For you have drunk, you havebecome intoxicated at the bubbling spring that I have measured out.”(6) And he took him, (and) withdrew, (and) he said three words to him.(7) But when Thomas came back to his companions, they asked him:“What did Jesus say to you?”(8) Thomas said to them: “If I tell you one of the words he said to me,you will pick up stones and throw them at me,and fire will come out of the stones (and) burn you up.”

If we take saying 108 of the GOSPEL of THOMAS apart we could get an idea of the three missing sayings of logion 13 :

(1) “He who will drink from my mouth will become like me”; YOU ARE ME
(2) “I myself shall become he”; I AM YOU
(3) “and the things that are hidden will be revealed to him”: ALL IS REVEALED TO YOU

Any of these three sayings would be enough to enrage the other apostles for they would feel excluded. And if they deified Jesus they would accuse THOMAS of BLASPHEMY. It also challenges THOMAS to let go of the idea 'teacher' and to identify as the SOURCE only.

The black dog (animal) runs away looking back from the beastly acts of man. The beastly psychopath drives away looking back in the mirror on the innocence of those 2 children; Anton: "You didn't see me" ! De film begint met een zwarte hond die wegloopt en achterom kijkt naar de beestachtige daden van de mens. En eindigt met de psychopatische beestachtige moordenaar die achterom kijkt in de achteruitkijkspiegel naar de onschuldige spelende kinderen. " Ge hebt me niet gezien" zegt Anton tegen één van hen. Deze film gaat over de ambiguiteit mens/dier. Is een mens pas een mens als hij de regels volgt? En Anton dan die zich zelf erop toelegt om Carla Jean nog te vermoorden (hij had het belooft). In het volgen van onze wetten en regels zijn we nog steeds in staat om als een beest uit de hoek te komen. Regels en wetten zijn hoogstens een dim lichtje dat aangestoken is door onze voorvaderen dat we moeten volgen in een voor de rest donker en koud land van menselijke instincten. Als de regel die Llewelyn bindt met zijn vrouw (hij laat zijn huwelijksring zien) ook Anton bindt met Llewelyns vrouw, Carla Jean, zodat hij terug gaat om haar te vermoorden. Wat is dan de waarde van regels? En wat verliezen we als we de regels laten voor wat ze zijn. Het zal altijd een dubbeltje op zijn kant zijn; Kop of munt...Mens/Dier. Zal mens beest worden zonder regels? Zoals de katten van Ellis: de meesten zijn half-wild en sommige zijn out-laws. Ondanks de regels die ten goede of ten slechte kunnen gebruikt worden. Juist de regel die Anton hanteert is zo wreedaaardig dat geen dier dat zou doen (teruggaan om Carla Jean te vermoorden). En toch is dit, regels, ons enigste wapen tegen de duisternis?

To me these saying is also a comment on portraying the 'Heavenly Father' in the form of an ancient icon for instance. Suppose the speaker was watching such an icon, being face to face to it or better being Face to no-Face to it. Then the saying translates as follows:

People are aware of images, but the light of Awareness that's seeing is hidden in the representation of Awareness as the Father. It will be disclosed but the Image of Awareness cannot be seen because It is what's doing the seeing. This logion is so compact and yet says it all. Not only the message is pure non-dualism it is also very beautifull like a Möbius figure, it goes round and turns the known 180° . It goes like this IMAGE(light hidden by image)-turn-around-LIGHT(image hidden by light). He was known for these turn-arounds. Ik zie in logion 83 een overeenkomst met het gezegde ‘the eye cannot see itself’ en in betekenis zegt het niet naar de vinger te zien (de beeltenis van de Vader) maar te zien naar waar verwezen wordt (het licht dat aan elke objectivering ontsnapt).
